Continued the practice of oil on lama paper and canvas, this artwork is all about Asteroid aka
Asteroids
which are small Solar System bodies, any astronomical object orbiting the Sun that are not comets, historically referred to objects inside the orbit of Jupiter; where the larger ones are called planetoids.
Hence the artist takes a similar approach in creating this painting. Predominately terra cotta colored composition depicts a flatten view of the textured surface of asteroids, albeit dominated by a larger one.
Asteroid, together with two other digital artworks, sunFX & roboDroid selected by NASA, were etched onto a chip, was liftoff to Asteroid Bennu by OSIRIS-REx Mission on September 7, 2016, 7:08 EDT to collect samples for study. When it returns to Earth on September 24, 2023, this painting would have traveled a total distance of 5.86 billion kilometers
