Conversation signifies a conversation with the extragalactic nebula or rather, the solar system, which consists of the sun and the astronomical objects bound to it by gravity. As it was the first painting of the Man and his Universe Series, it is intended to be an overview, a true dialog between man and his universe.

  • The heavily textured surfaces present the overall structure of the charted regions of the solar system: the four relatively small inner planets surrounded by a belt of rocky asteroids.

  • While the four gas giants surrounded by the outer Kuiper belt of icy objects are represented by the various blues, as well as the two outermost planets, Uranus and Neptune, which are composed largely of ices, such as water, ammonia and methane.

  • the brilliant cerulean blue depicts the icebergs.

The overall grayish cool tones impart the value of equilibrium, i.e. man and the planets must live in harmony!
